POSITION TITLE: Customer Service Associate
SALARY: $15.00 - $15.75/hour
SCHEDULE: 184 days Monday–Friday when school is in session, scheduled end time between 3:30-6:30pm (5 hour shift) (Except when Training is scheduled)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Kitchen Manager
Summary:
Assists with the preparation and serving of meal components for all programs. Accurately counting and claiming students at the point of sale. Collecting money for meals and ala carte items (if applicable).
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and basic skills of institutional quantity food production. Communication with students, staff, parents and the public. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures. Mathematics skills and cashier experience preferred
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Assist with preparation of large quantities of food items according to specified quantities from established menus and recipes.
DUTIES:
- Assists in food preparation as assigned by the manager or PPA.
- Set-up serving line and assists with meal service.
- Operates cash register/point of sale device during serving periods as needed.
- Operates miscellaneous kitchen/cafeteria equipment.
- Operates a dish machine.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces and kitchen equipment as needed throughout the day.
- Follow Health Department safety procedures and policies
- Attend workshops and training sessions as required.
- Wears the assigned uniform and all proper PPE’s. Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
- Assists in maintaining organized storage of dry goods, refrigerated, and frozen products.
- Assists in proper labeling, dating, and product rotation in dry storage, coolers, and freezers.
- Must maintain pace of kitchen and have a sense of urgency
- Serves customers in a friendly, respectful and efficient manner.
- Collects and reports quantities used, amounts produced, amounts left over and meal counts accurately in compliance with government regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of serving nutritious meals.
