Social Worker

 

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team. As a School Social Worker, you will provide essential support and services to students, families, and staff, promoting their overall well-being and academic success. Your role will involve addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns, collaborating with various stakeholders, and connecting individuals with appropriate community resources.

 

Immediate Supervisor(s): 

  • Principal of Assigned Building
  • SBEZ Director of Student Wellness
  • SBCSC Director of Social Workers

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students' social and emotional growth
  • Provide direct counseling services to students individually or in group settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies for addressing student challenges
  • Conduct home visits and engage families in the support process
  • Connect students and families with community resources and services
  • Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement behavioral support plans
  • Provide crisis intervention and support during emergency situations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
  • Valid state license as a School Social Worker
  • Experience working as a School Social Worker or in a similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed practices
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to school social work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Proficiency in using technology for documentation and communication purposes
